Polish-American producer Bogdan Raczynski will release his first album of new material in 15 years via Planet Mu this March.
Titled 'ADDLE', the eight-track record sees the producer, previously described as one of Aphex Twin's favourite artists, moving away from the jungle sound of past material and occupying a more meditative space previously explored by Raczynski on 2001's 'myloveilove' album.
Gábor Lázár has announced a new album, ‘Boundary Object’, which will land on Planet Mu next month.
The record, which has taken two years to complete with work taking place in Prague and Budapest, was recorded in real time, with tunes unedited. This was made possible thanks to a bespoke compositional interface which Lázár designed himself.
Jlin has announced a new EP, 'Embryo', which will drop on 10th December via Planet Mu. You can hear the title track below.
Comprising four-tracks, the release marks a shift in direction for the producer, who veers into mutant techno territory with a retro-futurist undercurrent.
Chicago footwork pioneer RP Boo is to release a new album on Planet Mu this September.
Titled 'Established!', it's his fourth full-length release for the label, following on from 2013's 'Legacy', 2015's 'Fingers, Bank Pads & Shoe Prints', and 2018's 'I'll Tell You What!'
The album looks back to the time when the producer was inventing and pioneering the footwork genre, "going out listening to disco and linking with early house producers such as Paul Johnson," a press release says. Elsewhere, he takes inspiration from the ghetto and jacking house of the '90s.
Chicago producer Jana Rush has signed to Planet Mu for the release of her second album, 'Painful Enlightenment'.
The 11-track album comes four years on from her last, 'Pariah', which was released by Objects Limited. 'Painful Enlightenment' sees the producer experimenting beyond the footwork sound that dominated its predecessor.
"This album is not a footwork album," Rush said. "It's more like dark experimental listening music, an opportunity to be myself without judgement!"
Planet Mu will next release a new album by leading footwork producer DJ Manny.
'Signals In My Head', Manny says, embodies his aim "to do something that nobody [in Footwork] had ever done before, which is an R&B love type of album. I just want people to know it's love out there."
Planet Mu will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year with a new compilation.
‘PlanetMµ25’ will be released on 4th December, and features 15 tracks that encapsulate the adventurous, forward-thinking sounds the label has championed since its inception in 1995.
Gábor Lázár will release a new LP on Planet Mu.
After a number of releases for labels such as Presto!? and The Death Of Rave, the Hungarian producer brings his prowess for hyperkinetic rhythms and experimental bass to Planet Mu, with an eight-track LP, 'Source'.
A collection of futuristic, experimental IDM, with club-orientated rhythms and wonky melodies, 'Source' nods to 2-step on one track and elsewhere to trance techno, with Lázár's intelligent electronic trademarks audible throughout.
