Beat Hotel Morocco has been forced to postpone due to spread of novel coronavirus.
The Marrakech edition of the Beat Hotel festival was set to take place between 19th and 22nd March, and is the latest in a string of cancellations after the outbreak of coronavirus, or COVID-19.
Posting a statement on Facebook, Beat Hotel said: "It’s with a heavy heart and much reluctance that we announce this year’s Beat Hotel Marrakech (19-22 March 2020) will be postponed, following the decision of the Moroccan Government earlier today (Thursday 5th March) to ban events over 1000 people, due to the escalation of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
The safety of our guests is our number one priority for The Beat Hotel Marrakech, and we work closely with Moroccan and international partners all year round to plan an enjoyable and safe event. We have been closely monitoring the developments over the past few weeks and, despite our best intentions to make the event happen safely, the Moroccan Government has ruled it cannot go ahead, as part of a nationwide ban on mass gatherings, until at least the end of March."
DJ Tennis, Floating Points and Gilles Peterson were all slated to perform at the festival later this month.
