Nous Alpha will release their second album, ‘A Walk In The Woods’, this week via Our Silent Canvas.
The collaborative project between longstanding British producer and engineer Gareth Jones (known for his work with Depeche Mode, Erasure and Einstürzende Neubauten) and American composer and musician Christopher Bono (NOUS, Ghost Against Ghost) debuted back in 2019 with the album ‘Without Falsehood’.
For this second effort, the duo ventured to a converted studio in the Catskill Mountains in New York. While there, they recorded natural sounds of trees, stones, birds and water, which are woven through blissful electronic foundations to create an intricate collection inspired by practice of meditation and gong rituals, and the intention of reaching a state of trance through music.
The nine track album is an immersive fusion of organic beats and electronic soundscapes. You can hear the rustling opening track ‘Important Moments’ below. You can also watch a video of the pair explaining how the track was made below.
