As one of two residents at Belfast’s legendary The Night Institute parties, Jordan has established himself as one of the most promising DJs to come out of Northern Ireland in recent years. No small claim when you consider the calibre of artist the city has been producing of late.
Alongside stalwart DJ and promoter Timmy Stewart, Jordan’s sets at The Night Institute have become known for their celebratory atmosphere, rhythmic dynamism and fusions of house, disco and electrified melodic techno. All of those elements, as it happens, are just as present in his productions, notably on his new release on Liverpool label Abandon Silence.
‘Obsession’ features two new original cuts from Jordan as well as three killer remixes from Bawrut, Alex Virgo and Tom VR respectively. The title track is an unabashedly vintage affair with ‘80s nods, a frosty arpeggiated bass groove, a resonant refrained vocal and more than enough cosmic disco flare to electrify a dancefloor.
